David C Cook announced the signing of cultural pioneer and writer/director/filmmaker Erwin Raphael McManus for the production ofSigns, an ultra-creative and deeply spiritual five-film series. The series will unpack five metaphors, each of which is represented by an element:Earth, Fire, Wind, Wood, or Water. Each short film will run roughly 10-12 minutes in length and will draw on each of these elements for its narrative and insight. Erwin explains, “My goal for this series it that audiences would walk away from these films never experiencing water, wind, fire, wood, or earth the same ever again.”

Don Pape, publisher of trade books for Cook, is thrilled with the new partnership. “McManus has been recognized, for good reason, as one of the most influential Christians in America. We are excited about standing with him in this endeavor to encourage and provoke people everywhere through the power of story, beauty, and film. His work is radical—revolutionary even—and Cook is overjoyed to be a part of the project.”

The first film in the Signs series, Earth, is slated for release in Spring 2012. Subsequent Signs films will launch each new release season (Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Spring 2013, Summer 2013). Erwin Raphael McManus is an artist, filmmaker, author, storyteller, activist, and innovator.
