Chris Tomlin To Release New Album, Love Ran Red, October 27, 2014

Kicking off 2013 with a No. 1 album made history for GRAMMY® winner Chris Tomlinas only the fourth Christian album to ever do so. Following the project’s success, sold-out tour dates, Billboard Music Awards, being named a BMI Songwriter of the Year and receiving the K-LOVE Fan Award for Male Vocalist of the Year, Tomlin will unveil his tenth studio recording, Love Ran Red on October 27.

Accumulating more than 13 million album and digital sales and having his songs sung by over 40 million people in churches each week has propelled Tomlin into a category all his own but also one that continues to humble him and increase his desire to make music for the church. The first single from Love Ran Red, “Waterfall,” does just that and has already seen top ten radio success. The follow-up single is impacting radio this week, and while its title, “Jesus Loves Me,” may make you think of another well-known song, it’s a brand new, original track.

Produced by longtime friend and collaborator Ed Cash, Love Ran Red features songs penned by Tomlin, Cash, Matt Redman, Jonah Myrin, Ben Glover, Jason Ingram and Ben Fielding. A special Deluxe Edition will feature the full-length studio album along with four additional tracks.

Tomlin premiered the album to a VIP crowd in Nashville this past Friday with live performances of several songs. sixstepsrecords’ Chief Strategist Shelley Giglio and Capitol Christian Music Group President Peter York surprised Tomlin with plaques certifying the RIAA Platinum certification of his songs “How Great Is Our God” and “Our God,” as well as the RIAA Gold Certification of “Indescribable,” “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone),” “I Will Follow,” “I Will Rise,” and “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies).”

CHRIS TOMLIN Starts Work On His New Album

Word on the street—the internet street that is—is that Chris Tomlin is starting work on his new album this week.  This wee bit of information was originally leaked by Shelly Giglio, the headmistress in charge over at sixstepsrecords (lower case. all one word).  When she tweeted last night:

RT @lauragilder: Lifting up @christomlin @mattgilder @carsondaniel@tlnunn @reverendreeves @jason_ingram as they begin the new record //me2!

Tomlin himself confirmed the news by tweeting today:
“Today begins recording of our new record. Not gonna stop til its right. Gonna give God our best!”

This usually means they will holed up in Tomlin’s White Cabin Studio in Atlanta for the next several weeks recording the album.  I don’t know if they have all the songs written and they are just recording or whether they are writing and recording all in one.

According to reports the most celebrated Christian Worship songwriter you’ve never heard of, Jason Ingram, is also coming down from Nashville to join the Tomlin crew in Atlanta for the making of the new record.  Jason is the mind behind some of the biggest Christian worship songs released recently by Hillsong Live, Passion Albums, and Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman songs, to name a few.  There are hundreds more artists he’s worked with in the last couple of years.  The guy’s a beast of a songwriter, he probably’s going to fly down to Australia once he’s done with Chris Tomlin, to go and write for the Hillsong Live crew for their new album they’ll be recording in November later this year.  And as if that’s not enough, he’s also the lead singer of One Sonic Society, the new band that some of the former members of Delirious formed in Nashville.

Ingram tweeted earlier today:

“And now off to Atlanta to work with @christomlin on a new album. On the alter of our praise let there be no higher name, Jesus Son of God!  I’m off to ATL tomorrow for most of April to work on an album.”

There’s some magic happening in the suburbs people.
I’m guessing Tomlin’s album will be released in November later this year.

This Latest Passion Worship Album “Here For You” May Be Their Best One Yet

I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to hear some of the songs off the new Passion album, “Here For You” —I watched the live stream of Passion 2011 so I had heard some of them already—but last night I hopped on over to the album’s listing on amazon to listen to a preview of  all the songs in their final version and I have to say, I was just blown away.  I don’t know what it is but there is something special about this record.  I mean I’d heard most of these songs before, but listening to them in their final form just took my breath away.  I don’t know what you may call it—anointing or whatever— but there’s a special blessing on this album.  And I am even tempted to say that it might just be the best Passion album yet,  and this is coming from someone who loves all their previous projects, especially the last 3 albums.

The new album “HERE FOR YOU” is due to hit stores and iTunes in about 3 weeks on March 8, 2011.

I’d love to know if you get to listen to the samples of the songs what you think and if you feel it too.

10,000 Students Gather For PASSION 2011 Ft. Worth, TX!

photo

Coming off the heels of more than 22,000 university students gathering in Atlanta this past January, Passion 2011 opened Friday at the Fort Worth Convention Center in downtown Ft. Worth with 10,000 students and leaders in attendance representing 13 countries and 47 states.

Teaching and leading the prayer gathering was Passion founder and Pastor Louie Giglio as well as renowned speakers John Piper and Francis Chan. Leading worship were the critically acclaimed artists Chris Tomlin, David Crowder*Band, Charlie Hall, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill, with special guest LeCrae who also performed a late night concert Friday night. The massive crowd sung songs from the latest release Passion: Here For You, which debuted at No. 1 on the Christian Albums Chart and No. 11 on Billboard’s Top 200, the greatest first week sales on a Passion album to date. Also performed in Ft. Worth was “Waiting Here For You” sung by Christy Nockels, the latest single featured on Passion: Here For You.

Passion 2011 Ft. Worth challenged students in a massive way to leverage their lives for the glory of God. As part of that challenge, Passion founder Louie Giglio pointed students toward a people group found in Mali, Africa with no access to biblical Scriptures.

Prior to the start of Passion 2011, Do Something Now leaders set a goal of raising $220,350 toward the translation of 90 biblical stories in the heart language of the people in Mali over the next five years. By Day 3, attendees had given $227,418 to fully fund the translation project.

“They don’t have one verse in their heart language,” says Giglio. “And what an amazing thought that in the unfolding of history, God chose us to put Scripture in the hands of 500,000 people in Mali.”

Students donated more than 5,700 towels and 31,200 socks to the homeless community in Ft. Worth and $14,091 to purchase and send mosquito nets to people in Africa.

Putting faith into action, Giglio gave the crowd the opportunity to be the first people on the planet to hear about the latest cause at Do Something Now: www.Haiti-Rising.com.

Over the next 60 days, the students and leaders that attended Passion 2011 in Ft. Worth have been given the charge to spread word about a new endeavor – helping remove the tons of rubble left in Haiti after the devastation left by the earthquake so that the country can begin the rebuilding process. David Crowder Band How He Loves Lyrics

Church Music by David Crowder*Band | CD Reviews And Information | NewReleaseTuesday.com

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Our God Lyrics – Chris Tomlin

“OUR GOD”

Water You turned into wine
Opened the eyes of the blind
There’s no one like You
None like You

Into the darkness You shine
Out of the ashes we rise
There’s no one like You
None like You

Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God, You are higher than any other
Our God is healer
Awesome in power
Our God, our God

Into the darkness You shine
Out of the ashes we rise
There’s no one like You
None like You

Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God, You are higher than any other
Our God is healer
Awesome in power
Our God, our God

And if our God is for us
Then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us
Then what could stand against
And if our God is for us
Then who could ever stop us
And if our God is with us
Then what could stand against
What could stand against

Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God, You are higher than any other
Our God is healer
Awesome in power
Our God, our God

SOMETIMES DAVID CROWDER LYRICS

I’ve been feasting on the latest Passion:We Are Here For You Album & one of my favorites songs is David Crowder’s “Sometimes.”  The lyrics and melody are truly powerful, take a gander:

Sometimes every one of us feels
Like we’ll never be healed
Sometimes
Sometimes every one of us aches
Like we’ll never be saved
Sometimes

When we’ve given up
Let your healing come
When theres nothing left
Let your healing come
Til were risin up
Let your healin come
Where You go we will follow
Where You go we will follow

It’s Your love that we adore
It’s like a sea without a shore
We’re lost in You, Were lost in You
It’s Your love that we adore
It’s like a sea without a shore
We’re lost in You, Were lost in You
Sometimes

Sometimes it’s like we never atone
For all the love we know
Sometimes like in a smile of a song
When you feel it come
Then that feelings gone
It flies

When we’ve given up
Let your healing come
When theres nothing left
Let your healing come
Til were risin up
Let your healin come
Where You go we will follow
Where You go we will follow

It’s your love that we adore
It’s like a sea without a shore
We’re lost in You, Were lost in You
(3x)

Its your love we adore
Its like a sea without a shore
Don’t be afraid, Don’t be afraid

Just set your sail and risk the ocean
There’s only grace
Let’s risk the ocean
There’s only grace
Let’s risk the ocean
There’s only grace
Let’s risk the ocean
There’s only grace

Where you go we will follow
I’m on my knees
Where you go we will follow
Oh God send me
Where you go we will follow
I’m on my knees
Where you go we will follow
Oh God send me

It’s your love that we adore
It’s like a sea without a shore
We’re lost in You, Were lost in You
It’s your love that we adore
It’s like a sea without a shore
We’re lost in You, Were lost in You

Where you go we will follow

Where you go we will follow
I’m on my knees
Where you go we will follow
Oh God send me

Bestselling Christian Artist & Worship Leader Chris Tomlin Talks About Getting Married & Wedding His Wife Lauren & New Album And If Our God Is For Us – Our God I Will Follow You I Will Rise

Chris Tomlin - I Will Follow [Single] (2010)

So you’ve had a busy week! Wanna share a highlight with us?

Chris: Well there’s a little something called getting married. It’s a little side project I’ve been working on (haha). No, seriously, it trumps everything. It’s awesome. That’s been a long time coming for me.

Big wedding? Small wedding? And be honest—were you nervous?

Chris: It was a small wedding—just our families and some close friends. I was a little nervous, mainly thinking ‘I want to get this right.’ But it’s been awesome so far. She’s amazing.

Your publicist was joking about how timely it was to get married right at the release of the new album. But looking back on your year, it doesn’t seem like there was much down time anywhere! Not only is your new project out… you also just received a huge honor for your previous one [Hello Love]. What has it been like to achieve something like that.

Chris: Yes… Hello Love going gold is quite humbling and I’m thankful and continually amazed by that. Particularly in these days and times… how music is sold. That’s very rare. So I’m like, ‘Wow! What in the world?’

Given the success of that project, how do you feel about the new direction the new album goes sonically?

Chris: We’ve definitely moved forward in the way that it sounds and people are responding. They’re saying, ‘Man this is different and it’s exciting.’ Or ‘Man this is different and I don’t like it.’ But at least they’re saying it’s different and I like that. It’s been ten years since I released my first record. After ten years, it’s easy to set cruise control and make songs that people will like or not because they liked [or didn’t like] my past music, but I’m not looking at that. I’m not just banking on making songs that are going to find a way to be a voice for the people in the church. And they’re just as exciting and powerful as those in the past. I’m really thankful for those in the past and what kind of doors it’s opened up for me and Passion and our church. Music is the universal language of the world. It’s really cool to be writing songs to give people the words to say what their hearts are feeling.

I love the new takes on production. And I know [producer] Ed Cash (Bebo Norman, Matt Wetz, and others) brought a lot to the table in terms of different musical structures. But the message is still pretty much the same… songs speaking to the church. I’m guessing that’s very intentional.

Chris: There are so many important songs for the church. That hasn’t changed at all. I haven’t gone into a new world of music or different genre. I’m still doing the same thing, which I’m excited about. I don’t want to leave people behind. This is what God’s given us. I want to do something that’s exciting and great to listen to, but also what hits the heart of worship and worshipping.

You’ve always been clear that, to you, worship is absolutely a lifestyle and not just a genre or a set up on a stage somewhere. Now that you’re married and have a new role as leader of your household, how do you plan on bringing that sense of worship into your home?

Chris: I ran into this worship leader in Brazil this year and we were talking about my upcoming wedding. I remember him looking at me and saying (through a translator), ‘If you can’t lead your own bride, you definitely can’t lead the bride of Christ.’ That’s what it’s about. Hopefully I can be the same to her as I would be on the stage.

The album is called, And If Our God is For Us. That entire phrase: ‘And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us?’ is so encouraging and delivered with such conviction. But do you ever get in a place where it’s hard to believe that? In other words, has life… the real world… ever brought you to a point that shakes your certainty of God’s sovereignty? Or, have you met other people in that same place? What do you say to yourself or them?

Chris: The beautiful thing is these songs are for the real world… and that’s what it’s all about. That’s scripture. God is for us whenever life comes at you. We do worship a God that’s greater than all things that could ever come against it. It’s not a matter of ‘our God can beat up your God.’ There’s none like Him. That’s what we put our trust and our hope in.
