passion-even-so-come

Featuring some of this generation’s most acclaimed worship leaders – Chris Tomlin, Crowder, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels, Kristian Stanfill and Brett Younker – the new live Passion album Passion: Even So Come is set to release on March 17.

The album was recorded in front of over 30,000 college students at three separate Passion gatherings in Atlanta and Houston. The new album follows in the footsteps of many successful live Passion recordings this decade, including Passion: Awakening, Passion: Here For You, Passion: White Flag, Passion: Let the Future Begin and most recently Passion: Take It All, all of which have debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Albums Chart.

Passion 2015 was a three-day gathering on two separate weekends in Atlanta and a final three-day gathering in Houston. The conference was attended by a generation of 18-25 year olds from around the world and led by renowned pastors and teachers Louie Giglio, John Piper, Francis Chan, Christine Caine, Judah Smith, Ben Stuart, Matt Chandler and more.

Across the three gatherings, students were challenged to meet a goal of $850,000 that would support 10 people groups in 12 nations across the world in hopes that 19 million people will hear the message of Jesus for the first time. Following the final gathering in Houston, the total donations amounted to nearly $1.2 million.

Passion also continues to shine a light on modern-day slavery through the End It Movement. Leaders announced the new 27X7 initiative inviting advocates to create teams of 27 “freedom fighters,” representing the 27 million slaves around the world. Each “freedom fighter” will donate $7. All funds will be distributed among 16 coalition partners to support prevention, rescue and restoration efforts in the fight against modern-day slavery. The Passion team announced that next year, Passion 2016 will consist of simultaneous conferences in Atlanta and Houston on January 2-4, 2016. They also announced plans to return to the Georgia Dome again in 2017.

Chris Tomlin To Release New Album, Love Ran Red, October 27, 2014

Kicking off 2013 with a No. 1 album made history for GRAMMY® winner Chris Tomlinas only the fourth Christian album to ever do so. Following the project’s success, sold-out tour dates, Billboard Music Awards, being named a BMI Songwriter of the Year and receiving the K-LOVE Fan Award for Male Vocalist of the Year, Tomlin will unveil his tenth studio recording, Love Ran Red on October 27.

Accumulating more than 13 million album and digital sales and having his songs sung by over 40 million people in churches each week has propelled Tomlin into a category all his own but also one that continues to humble him and increase his desire to make music for the church. The first single from Love Ran Red, “Waterfall,” does just that and has already seen top ten radio success. The follow-up single is impacting radio this week, and while its title, “Jesus Loves Me,” may make you think of another well-known song, it’s a brand new, original track.

Produced by longtime friend and collaborator Ed Cash, Love Ran Red features songs penned by Tomlin, Cash, Matt Redman, Jonah Myrin, Ben Glover, Jason Ingram and Ben Fielding. A special Deluxe Edition will feature the full-length studio album along with four additional tracks.

Tomlin premiered the album to a VIP crowd in Nashville this past Friday with live performances of several songs. sixstepsrecords’ Chief Strategist Shelley Giglio and Capitol Christian Music Group President Peter York surprised Tomlin with plaques certifying the RIAA Platinum certification of his songs “How Great Is Our God” and “Our God,” as well as the RIAA Gold Certification of “Indescribable,” “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone),” “I Will Follow,” “I Will Rise,” and “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies).”

BMI’s 2014 Songwriter of the Year, Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God” was his first No. 1 on the CCLI Top 25, moving to No. 1 after becoming one of the fasting rising modern day hymns in CCLI chart history. PASSION 2012 At The Georgia Dome SOLD OUT !!! Over 42,000 College Students Pour Into Downtown Atlanta

According to reports, more than 42,000 tickets have been purchased for PASSION 2012 at the Georgia Dome, in downtown Atlanta.  As of 30 December 2011 last week the entire event was sold out. This year’s conference runs from Monday, January 2 – Thursday, January 5, 2012 featuring renowned speakers Francis Chan, John Piper and Beth Moore and host, Louie Giglio.

Also featured will be all the sixstepsrecords artists as well special guests Hillsong United and Lecrae.  This will also be the last concert performed by the David Crowder Band.

Passion conferences are designed to draw university-aged young people, and many participants have had their lives changed. “Passion 98 changed my life,” says a Texas man on the Passion 2012’s Facebook wall with the picture of a hat, which he says has accompanied him to over 26 nations. “Tomorrow it accompanies me, my wife and 10 students to Passion 2012 – I am hoping they bring back a Passion Hat this year!”

Passion seeks to engage the “university moment” with the compelling message of Jesus and the challenge to leverage life to make him famous. To achieve that purpose, tens of thousands of students who love Jesus will make a difference this year in the city and beyond. Upon registration, every attendee will bring towels and socks to donate to the city’s homeless community. By Jan. 5, more than 100,000 socks and 40,000 towels will be collected and donated.

As part of Passion’s “Do Something Now,” the participants will also raise $1 million to free, rescue and restore those entrapped in modern-day “slavery,” such as bonded laborers in India and girls and women trafficked to Western nations from Nepal and other developing nations. There are more slaves today than any other time in the history, according to Passion. The Do Something Now movement has raised over the past years more than $6 million to help end treacheries like sex trafficking, provide clean water and meet other pressing global needs.

The Passion movement began in 1995 with a stirring in the heart of Giglio to see college students across the globe “awaken to the reality of a glorious God and Creator.” Passion gathers college students from campuses and churches around the world and across ministry and denominational lines.

PASSION CONFERENCE’S Kristian Stanfill Teams Up With Brandon Heath For New ‘Leaving Eden Tour’ Spring 2011

Just found out that Kristian Stanfill’s teaming up with recording artist Brandon Heath for the new Spring 2011 “Leaving Eden Tour.”  Heath just released his latest album by the same name, a week ago to wide acclaim.

Cities include Waco,TX, Panama City Beach, FL and Omaha,NE.

Stanfill’s star is definitely rising, 2 songs of his new album, Mountains Move, really signalled a big turn for me in his songwriting ability.  “Day After Day” and “Always”  are seriously two exceptional songs, especially live.  To me they are of the calibre you’d expect from David Crowder Band or Chris Tomlin.  So I was very impressed these songs when I heard them for the first time.

As a special bonus Heath will be doing a special acoustic session before the main event.  According to the press release:

“On this tour, Brandon will be hosting the Leaving Eden Soundcheck Session each night before the show. Leaving Eden Soundcheck Session participants will be treated to a unique acoustic performance from Brandon Heath before the general public is allowed in the building. Attendees will also get a limited edition Leaving Eden Soundcheck Session poster signed by Brandon that is only available to participants of the Soundcheck Session.

Concert goers are in for a treat.  Dave Barnes is also set to join Stanfill and Heath as supporting act.
